GK Distribution, Shot, 1v1
GK Distribution, Shot, 1v1

Organization:
Area: Penalty Area
Goalkeeper with soccer balls in the goal. Coach on the 18-yard line with soccer balls. Second GK just outside the box, to the left or right of the goal, behind two cones. Cones about two yards apart. The goalkeeper rolls the first ball through the cones to GK2. GK2 receives the ball and pushes it to the left or the right with the first touch and shoots with the left or right foot at the goal. Make sure the shot is on target. After the shot, GK2 runs around the coach. The coach passes a through ball into the box to create a 1v1 / breakaway situation. The goalkeeper comes out and makes the save before GK2 can get to the ball. After several turns, the goalkeepers switch rolls. After both goalkeepers had a turn, they move to the other side of the box.
Goal: Improve distribution, dealing with shots from the 18-yard line and with the 1v1 situation / breakaway.
Focus Points:
-
Distribution. Roll the ball accurately and without bounces through the cones and to the correct foot.
-
Positioning after rolling the ball and when the coach has the ball for the through ball.
-
Technical goalkeeping skills such as catching the ball, falling and diving saves
Variation:
-
The coach plays the ball into the feet of GK2, who tries to dribble around the goalkeeper and score.
-
After making saves, the goalkeeper has to distribute the ball into a goal placed outside of the penalty box.
