Session Detail: Functional Practice (opposed/unopposed)

The practice is set up as shown in the diagram. A 2v2 +1 rondo box is located centrally with mannequins positioned along the edge of the penalty box. The neutral (green) within the box starts the practice by playing into the black team, who looks to combine with the neutral a set number of passes before playing out wide. The striker and opposite wide player then attack the box for the cross. Play then restarts with neutral playing into reds within the rondo box.

Progressions:

Increase or decrease the number of passes within the box.

Set a touch limit on neutral within the box.

Add defenders to defend the cross realistically.
