1st Touch in the Box Drills
1st Touch in the Box Drills

Players will partner up with one ball. Each pair will have a small box at one end, and their partner with a ball at the other. After the first player completes drill 1, they will switch for player 2 to complete drill 1, then switch back to begin drill 2.
Complete each drill per partner for 2-3 mins. Emphasize importance of passing player playing a driven ball to the CORRECT foot, and also making their partner work (playing at pace, one after the other)
Drill 1: Player 2 will play a drive ball in and player 1 will be starting inside the box and take their first touch with the outside of their right foot, to go through the right side of the box, then their second touch will be a driven ball back to player 2. Player 1 will job back into the box, and immediately receive the next ball to take with their outside of their left foot.
Drill 2: Same as drill 1(starting inside the box), but instead of using the outside of their foot, they will use the inside. Player 1's touch will be with the inside of their left foot, to take the ball across their body and to the right side of the box, to then play the ball to their partner.
Drill 3: Player 1 will start outside the box on the right side. They will take their first touch with the outside of their left foot to enter inside the box and then their second touch will be played back to player 2. They will then shift to the left side and continue with their right outside foot
Drill 4: Same as above but instead using the inside of their foot. Player 1 will start on the outside of the box on the right side, take their touch with the instead of their right foot into the box, then play the ball back
(Slightly more advanced, can build up to it) Drill 5: Player will start on the outside of the right side of the box and drag the ball into the box with their right foot, then jog to outside of the left side, and drag with left foot
