TIME: 10 Minutes
SET UP: 6x cones for goals - 2 Defenders and 2 attackers - 15 x 15-yard grid -
INSTRUCTIONS:
2 players line up on opposite sides of the square. The attacking player dribbles the ball towards the ball towards the center before then attempting to stop the ball between one of the goals.
The goal nearest to the defender's starting point is worth 10 points as its the hardest goal to stop the ball in. The middle goal is worth 5 and the top goal is worth 1 goal.
CHALLENGES FOR PLAYERS:
The defending player presses early.
COACHING POINTS:
The defender should not try and force a tackle, they should instead simply try and shadow and force the player to the 1-point goal.
Look for good movement, speed and defensive channeling from the players
