Set Up:

There are 14-18 players set up on a small field, starting on the end lines. To begin play, Player 1 makes a long pass to Player 2 or Player 3 and overlaps to goal. The player who receives the first pass turns to goal, and the other player overlaps him (in the example, Player 2 receives and Player 3 overlaps), The next pass will send Player 3 thru to goal. From there, he can slot the ball to Player 1 (option 1) or shoot (option 2). Upon completion, the drill will run in the other direction, with Player 4 combining with Players 5 and 6. The drill continue back and forth across the field with this three player pattern. During the drill, the players rotate to the other side of the field after each shot.

Coaching Points:

1.  Hold the run in order to adjust to the pass.

2.  Just make solid contact on a ball set back to you. Don't overpower it.

3.  Deal with the goalkeeper as opposed to just hitting the ball at the goal.

Progressions:

1.  Player 2 fakes to Player 3 and sends Player 1 thru to goal.
