Set Up:

There are ten players set up in the attacking third, playing 2v1 inside the grid and 1v2 in the penalty area. A neutral attacker starts from behind the grid. The attackers play keep away inside of the grid and look to pass the ball out to either side. When the ball is played out, the neutral attacker runs an overlap and goes to goal. Play continues 2v2 from there. The defenders are allowed to leave the penalty area as soon as the neutral attacker touches the ball. When the defenders win the ball, they return it to the grid and they become the attacking team.

Coaching Points:

1.  Look for the early cross into the penalty area.

2.  Hold your run or check away from the ball until your teammate is in a position to pass.

3.  Watch the play develop, and then decide on a near post or far post run.

Progressions:

1. The players in the grid follow the pass to goal. creating a 4v3.
