Set Up:

The players on the outside of the square combine with the players on the inside of the square to practice various two player combinations. After each combination, the ball is passed back out of the square to an open player. After 5 minutes, four new players rotate into the middle.

Part A – Wall Pass      Part B – Overlaps     Part C – Double Pass     Part D – Takeover or Heel Pass

Coaching Points:

1  Communication –  The players on the inside initiate each combination with a verbal command.

2   Running without the ball –  The outside players have to wait for the combination to develop in order to time their runs correctly. The speed of the combination will depend on the quality of the first pass and how quickly the inside players control that pass.

3  Passing – All passes must be made directly to feet at game speed. In games, inaccurate passes will lead the attacker into the next defender.

Progressions:

1. Add a defender.
