Set Up:

Coach is in the penalty area, including 1-2 feeders. The shooter finishes passes from the Feeders from close in—between the penalty spot and the six-yard box—but only shoots at half of the goal. Each shooter and goalkeeper plays 6-8 consecutive balls before switching out. The speed of the drill can be increased to force the goalkeeper to get up quickly for the next ball. The shooters play against both goalkeepers during the drill, and the goalkeepers keep a running score of goals allowed. The shooter should move around the pk-6yard box to make it more realistic for the working gk.

If feeder is on the left side, the shooter is shooting on the left side of the goal, same with the right side.

Coaching Points:

1.  Resist the impulse to fall or dive backwards when making a save. So stay on toes and DO NOT be flat footed on your heels. Being on your heels is what created you to fall backwards

2.  Choose to catch or parry as early as possible. Most likely will be reaction blocking and not holding these shots.

3. BE BRAVE and COME OUT to meet the shooter in the box. If at the pk line step out a little to close down the space and set for a shot when the shooters leg winds back, if closer attack the ball and come out for a 1v1 save.
