Our goal kick setup is depicted above. If the Outside mid on that side (The LM here) is open and has space, the keeper plays the ball to them. If not, the keeper drops a soft pass in front of the defensive back on that side (the LB here) who takes their first touch wide. An attacker will be running at this back. Both the LM and the CM should get to wide/central positions behind the charging attacker to create multiple pass opportunities for the LB who has the ball in a dangerous position. If the opponent is assuming a short kick and the keeper sees an opportunity to play the ball into space for one of our deeper players, she may do that as well.
