Set Piece 1A
-
Objective: Two players with yellow "X" cover ball. Yellow "X" in line with free kick taker creates a flick where player with pink "X" takes the shot. Depending on Side of the field, it will vary between a left-footed or right-footed player. Must be very precise on pass, shot, timing. Player taking shot must have very strong and accurate shot. Off the ball movement with other players is very important.
- Red-Shaded Region: Players must create movements (or lack thereof) to leave space in front of goal. Delayed runs would be optimal or runs through outside.
- Green-Shaded Region: Very important three players not taking shots create runs to disorganize defenders and move away from the goal. Ideal runs should be on the outside of wall.
Set Piece 1B
-
Objective: Same setup with initial 4 on the ball and 3 players attacking wide of goal. The two CBs and MF have to be organized in line of 3 with CBs very wide. This will result in opposition believing that either of the CBs might be involved in play and will take defenders away. The initial progression is the same however the player with "green X" will make a run to "ask" for ball as decoy. This will take closest defender on him out of position. Will allow for player with "red X" to make a diagonal run behind with a through pass from player with " pink X" to set up a show.
- Red-Shaded Region: Players must create realistic movements to get defenders out of position and create space behind them
- Green-Shaded Region: Very important three players not taking shots create runs to disorganize defenders and move away from the goal. Ideal runs should be on the outside of wall.
Set Piece 1C
-
Objective: Pass from "pink X" into "red X" player who puts a through ball to the far "yellow x" player who will make a run and finish into goal or look for a cross to opposite side to teammate on opposite post making a run into the box. This play has to be perfect in a sense of timing, technical aspects, off-ball movements.
- Red-Shaded Region: Player "green x" must create a shield on the defender marking player "red X" in order to free him up for an unopposed run. Opposite attacking player must time run to closest goal post to him anticipating a cross from the play.
- Green-Shaded Region: Very important three players not taking shots create runs to disorganize defenders and move away from the goal. Ideal runs should be on the outside of wall unless it is the player making the diagonal run through to receive pass.
