The setup for our corner kick is diagrammed above. The defensive back on the side of the kick plays between the 18 yard box and midfield. The LM,ST and RM line up tight together, just below the penalty spot. The CM may play the ball back to the defensive back if nobody is marking them for a shot on goal. If not, the LM,ST and RM run at the goal as depicted above. The CM will count to 2 after dropping her arm and then put the ball just inside the 6 yard box for a potential score. The midfielder at the back, the LM in this example, stays wide enough of the goal to stop the ball if it should make its way past our other attackers.
