Topic:

Developing Positive Behaviours Through Play And Praise

Explanation:

When a player is sent to the scoreboard they will take part in a Panenka challenge. A successful Panenka kick will result in getting points on the scoreboard for their team. This gives players the opportunity to work on their chipping technique and receive feedback and coaching points from their coach at the scoreboard. As with all Scoreboard Soccer games, players who demonstrate the most positive behaviours (leadership, skill, effort) will increase their teams chances of winning the game. Small sided games with a scoreboard to encourage, highlight and reward positivity.

Coaching Points:

1.  If chipping over the mini-goal, keep the toe pointed up.

2.  If hitting the ball like a cross, turn the foot out, point the toe down, and slice under the ball.

3.  Approach the ball at a 45 degree angle to generate power.

Progressions:

1.  Move the mini-goals further away from the shooter.

2.  Move the two mini-goals closer together.
