Possession and Transition

Explanation:

On a split field, the teams play 3v3 in each half, with one of the defenders designated as the GK. This creates a 3v2 advantage for the attacking team. When the defenders win the ball, their possession starts with the GK as they look to pass the ball into the other half. When defenders repossess in the attacking half, they go right to goal

Progression:

After the attackers play the ball over the midfield line, a defender crosses over with the ball to force the three attackers to play quickly.

Coaching Points:

1.  Make several imaginative runs to get open for the pass across.

2.  Quick transitions on any change of possession.

3.  Attack at speed during the 3v2.
