Set Up:

There are six players set up on a large grid with players starting at the cones. Player 1 begins the drill with a pass up to Player 2 (or Player 3). Player 2 plays it square to Player 3, and he drops the ball off to Player 1. Player 1 then passes across the grid to Player 4. Players 2 and 3 turn to support Player 4, and play continues back and forth across the grid in this four pass pattern. After five minutes, Players 2 and 3 switch out.  

Coaching Points:

1.  The pass across is a driven ball, struck with the instep. It stays low and has backspin. 

2.  The back pass should stay on the ground and take most of the pace off of the ball.

3.  When the long pass is struck, the support players have to talk and show themselves. 

Progressions:

1.  The pass across must be hit first time.
